This demonstration introduces the Basin-scale Events and Coastal Impacts (BECI) North Pacific Ocean Knowledge Network—an innovative platform designed to connect, collate, and synthesize fragmented information across the Pacific Rim. Through seven integrated dashboards, the Knowledge Network provides fisheries managers, researchers, conservation planners, and coastal communities with organized access to environmental monitoring data, species climate vulnerability assessments, ecosystem health indicators, management tools, and collaborative networks spanning six Pacific nations.

What’s in the Knowledge Network

The Knowledge Network brings together information on ocean conditions, fish, ecosystems and management from across the North Pacific in seven dashboards:

• Ocean State: Current and past ocean conditions across the North Pacific, including marine heatwaves.
• Fish Dynamics: Profiles of key transboundary species, including where they’re found, how they’re changing, and how vulnerable they are to climate change.
• Ecosystem Status: Ecosystem health indicators compared across North Pacific regions.
• Knowledge Library: A searchable collection of research, management tools, models and resources, including lessons learned from past extreme events.
• Network Community: Connections to experts, working groups and monitoring programs across Pacific Rim nations.
• Human Dimensions (in development): How ocean change affects coastal communities, livelihoods and Indigenous food security.
• Interactive Map: A spatial view of ocean conditions, species, management boundaries and extreme events.
